About the Book

2010 – New Fiction Release Imaginatively Renders Young Author’s Cross-Country Journey

Somewhere Over the Sun

is released by author Adi Alsaid

Alan is a writer, and he has been a writer for as long as he can remember. He finds himself making up stories about the mundane things he sees around him every day, and to his amazement his stories begin to come to life. There are limits to his powers; for example, he’s unable to summon objects, and he cannot heal himself or others. This is particularly unfortunate as terrible headaches accompany his amazing new gift. When Alan shares his news with his father, Robert, Alan is encouraged to take a cross-country trip, visiting friends and spreading his own brand of literary sunshine in his wake.

Alan takes his father’s advice and sets off to visit old friends and rekindle an old romance with the beautiful Danielle. On his travels, he helps his friends find love, find happiness, and find a little creativity in an otherwise drab world. As Alan settles into romantic bliss with Danielle, events transpire that take their lives in an unexpected direction. Will Alan’s gift continue to spread cheer, or is his gift dangerous to himself and others?

Somewhere Over the Sun is Adi Alsaid’s debut novel, and his love of language leaps from the page, drawing the reader into his world with his words. Alsaid graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a degree in marketing, but he spent much of his time reading and writing. Raised in Mexico City by Israeli parents, Alsaid is “usually unsure of how long he will remain at any given address, but chances are he is living somewhere in the northwestern hemisphere. He hopes this book brings his readers even a sentence’s worth of happiness.”
